You Don't By Chance Have Six Fingers On Your Right Hand?
I had just completed my first four figures from The Princess Bride here, when I found out that Antediluvian Miniatures were releasing a second set of TPB figures. Needless to say I was super excited, though admittedly I would have rather seen Miracle Max or the Albino than the Clergyman - but who knows, fingers crossed (all six) that maybe Antediluvian have another 4 TPB figures slated for this year :)
First up is the six fingered man himself, Count Rugen.
The Princess Bride
The impressive Clergyman
Prince Humperdinck
Here is Inigo Montoya on the old Likto bases that I used to exclusively use next to Rugen on my new thin clear base.
And now with Inigo's base switched. Because of his pose he is on a 1" base (25mm) compared to my preferred 3/4" base (20mm) that Rugen is on.
I swapped out the bases on the entire first group and I think you'll agree that these bases look way better than the Litko ones. The figures really just blend right into the environment. I've had a tutorial for these new bases in edit mode for months now, so hopefully I can get that one sorted soon and out for anyone interested.
And a quick thanks to new follower Vincent Penetier, appreciate you following the madness!
Until next time, thanks for looking!
Ivor

Yes, please do post about the thin new bases, without the thick edge they blend so nicely into the tabletop...
ReplyDeleteand the Princess Bride figures are great of course.
Cheers mate! I'm going to really try to focus and get the clear base tutorial up, along with some thoughts on why I exclusively use them for skirmish games- there is this really strange stigma about gamers who use clear bases that needs addressing π
DeleteThe stigma only applies to gamer's Ivor, movie maker are permitted to do such things ;)
DeleteBut yes please do a post on it as it needs doing & as far as I can see the thin clear bases are becoming more popular :)
I like your thought process Frank π
DeleteI find it extremely interesting that when the words "clear bases" come up that there is legitimate anger by some gamers that you'd even have the audacity to want to use them - total head scratcher to me.
You do nothing for 2 months and then BOOM, 3 posts in just a few days. The figures look good, the staged photo of Montoya and Rugen is very eye catching.
ReplyDeleteThe new bases are much better than the commercial ones in my opinion.
Cheers
Thanks a lot John! I'm sure I'll get back to my 1 lonely post every quarter soon lol!
DeleteI agree, the new thin bases are a huge improvement π
Yep I have to agree with John Ivor your post are like buses nothing for ageist & then 3 come together :)
ReplyDeleteA great set of models & the thinner bases look much better, a fun thing I just left a post on Bryans blog in with he has in all but name an Andre model & I'm trying to remember the movie he's in & think its Willow & then you post this, I guess the moral of the story is I should have read this post first lol
Lol! True!
DeleteWell, they did both come out around the same time so we'll give you a pass on that π
I would like to see a Madmartigan figure though!
FANTASTIC!!! I'm going to HAVE to pick up a set of these!
ReplyDeleteCheers mate! They are really nice figures, I just hope that Antediluvian do four more to kind of round out the entire cast π
DeleteI might be breaking my 'no new miniatures' resolution for this set
ReplyDeleteLOL! They are really nice, highly recommended!
DeleteExcellent! I didn't know these new ones were out,and you've done a great job with them.
ReplyDeleteMuch appreciated Bill! Yeah, they snuck by me too - I had just ordered the first set and went back to the site to show someone else the figures and saw that they released part two. Hopefully they have one more set planned, I want Miracle Max and the Albino :)
DeleteHow are things your way, you haven't updated your blog in quite some time?
Very fun miniatures! A nice set to have. One would not be able to help themselves from quoting the movie ceaselessly while they were on the table. πyou weren’t kidding about having several posts ready to go huh?
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot Stew! You're absolutely right about quoting the movie all the time during a game - but what if you could use the quotes to trigger special effects or abilities π
