More figures based up last night, as I'm slowly chipping away at getting models 100% completed.
Here are Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John Watson from West Wind's Empire of the Dead line. I also have the regular Holmes and Watson from West Wind, but they are on their original big old black bases and need to be switched over to clear bases.
Here is Dr. Jekyl, the other half to my Mr. Hyde completed earlier in the year. Again, from West Winds excellent EotD line. The toff on the right I think is from Artizan, but can't for the life of me remember. He definitely looks perfect for a Holmes-esque type of game though.
And here is Tin Tin and Snowy. You may remember I had a bit of an accident with Tin Tin over the summer. Well, I did my best to save him and it turned out ok all things considered - definitely should have put a wash over the repainted skin on the face though.
We've just been getting hammered with snow over the last several days (Erie, which is about an hour and a half east of us has gotten over FOUR FEET of snow dumped on them!!??), and this is how hardcore my wife is with this whole horse business!? She actually rides our horses to the farm next door because they have an indoor riding arena. Madness.
As always, thanks for looking!
Ivor
Good to see you're making progress on the re-basing, Ivor - the minis look great :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot! Little by little I'm getting there, though that "too be based" pile is still huge right now :)
DeleteDang ... I rode a horse in the snow and ice before ... no fun! Hard core indeed. So many posts in such a short time ... you are making the rest of us look bad ;-) lol
ReplyDeleteI always forget that you weren't always a sunny west coaster and originally come from the cold Canadian east :)
Delete5 clear basing figure posts can't touch 1 of your AAR's though. Honestly, 10 clear basing posts can't touch 1 of your AAR's lol!! But that is going to hopefully be a focus for 2018, more AAR's.
Lol ... yup ... I fled South when I was 21 :-) Posts are posts ... I need to finish my "year in review" post and make a bunch of lackluster 2018 plans ... hahaha ... or should I say "HO HO HO NOW I HAVE A MACHINE GUN" ;-)
DeleteI was hoping you were going to say "Come out to the coast, we'll get together, have a few laughs" :)
DeleteCan't wait to see the "year in review" and post my own as well!
Looks like we both have articles in the new issue of WI - too bad they weren't back to back lol!
A lot of work changing bases Ivor & not the most exciting job but well worth the effort, all those models look great even the one out in the snow on the horse :)
ReplyDeleteThanks Frank! Agreed, it's not very exciting to actually do and really to post about but ultimately this will help in some of my goals for 2018 :)
DeleteI have to say I literally laughed out loud when I read the model on the horse, that was good! Well played!
Having done this myself on models I feel your pain mate but all well worth it in the end I assure you, if I can offer a bit of advice do some of them then do something a bit more fun & then do a few more, good to see you took the model on the horse the right way Ivor, as after I posted I was a bit worried about if I should have :)
DeleteAgreed, I definitely think it'll be worth it in the end, it's just slow boring journey to get there :) I got the model horse joke straight away and like I said gave out a big laugh when I read it! Hilarious! I was actually thinking of showing it to the wife , but I don't need her thinking she's a model and it going to her head lol :)
DeleteLooking good with all these re-based minis. I'm seriously considering doing it also, but the numbers involved... Old West is done and I might just go for the pulp figures.
ReplyDeleteBtw, the "toff on the right" is a Copplestone, from the same pack as Tintin and Milou (Snowy), I think
Thanks Joakim! For me it's the Old West that I'm debating re-doing, but like you said the numbers involved... ugghh. And that makes total sense about the Toff :) much appreciated!
