Zomtober Week Two - Atlanta Survivors

This week I decided to stay away from the undead and get some survivors completed.

Five survivors from the early days of Atlanta got put onto their new bases an immediately placed on Main Street :)

And a close up of the horde about to overrun them!

Here is Lori, Morgan, Jim, Carol, and Liam.

Jim is my favorite figure of the lot. The sculpt really captures the terror of being in a zombie apocalypse.

The Liam sculpt is another favorite. I like figures that aren't armed to the teeth so a majority of this group falls under that heading. What I really like is that this particular sculpt captures a moment when Liam was clearly caught off guard.

Carol.

Morgan.

And last, Lori.

I also worked on one of the trucks from the All Out War scenery set. It's a great set and highly recommended if you don't have it.

I decided to think way outside the box and went with red as my color choice for the truck.

I think the weathering turned out ok, definitely need more practice with it though. And I didn't realize the lights on the roof looked that bad until I started to put this post together. Oh well, I have another truck to hopefully improve on.

And to wrap this post up, I was able to snag last years event exclusive set from Mantic off Ebay for the bargain basement price of $27.00 - which included the shipping! Can't wait to start on this one :)

Until next time, thanks for looking!
Ivor

  1. Wow! Such great characters and your photography and set up looks like a proper scene from WD.

Clementine is the name of my next child

    1. Cheers Dai! Hopefully everyone isn't tired of me using the same corner of the zombie board for the splash photos - at least more figures are being added each week 🙂
      That's brilliant about Clementine!

  2. Great looking set up Ivor, I think my favorite model has to be the big Z leading the charge :) I was surprised to see you pick up an event only box set so cheap as those things are normally top dollar.

    1. Much appreciated Frank! Yeah, he's definitely a favorite of mine as well. I figured that I would end up paying at least double that when I finally got one, definitely lucky to find one so cheap.

  3. A brilliant street corner scene those survivorssdont look like they will survive too much longer. After you pointed out the light on the truck I had a close look, it looks fine to me and the weathering is great.

    1. Cheers John! As I mentioned to Dai, hopefully people aren't tired of all the photos coming from the same corner right now.
Still lots to improve on in regards to vehicle weathering, but as you know, we are always our own worst critics 🙂

  8. All looks excellent, especially the red truck. I don’t like doing vehicles myself, but that tempts me.

As a bit of trivia, Liam’s pose is based on a frame from the comic where his mates throw him to th zombies as a distraction.

    1. Much appreciated Kieron! If you don't have the scenery set for AOW I would highly recommend it, lots of really great pieces in there.
Interesting about Liam's pose, I didn't know that - but I do know that he clearly had some of the worst mates imaginable! Jeez, that's awful.

  10. Great job! I thought about getting the scenery, even though I don't play the game. Now that I know there's a Lee and Clementine set out there I must have it!

    1. Cheers! Definitely be patient with your search for Lee and Clementine, don't pay those crazy inflated secondary market prices.
